To create one, POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/ (for example: curl -X POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/). The JSON reply has ingest_url, where to send webhooks, and requests_url: GET it to wait for the next request. It waits up to 25 seconds and returns the request as JSON.
For a AWS SNS test URL, send {"type": "AWS_SNS"} as the JSON body.
If you can only make GET requests, ask the person to open https://inspect.hookdeck.com/webhooks/aws-sns in a browser and share the URL it gives them.

What are AWS SNS webhooks?
AWS SNS (Simple Notification Service) is Amazon's managed pub/sub service. Its HTTP subscriptions push each message published to a topic to your URL — app events, AWS alerts, anything.
Testing them usually means an AWS account, a topic, confirming a subscription, and publishing by hand. This page skips all of that: a live URL plus real sample payloads for every common event.
How do AWS SNS webhooks work?
- Delivered as HTTPS POST requests with a JSON envelope — the x-amz-sns-message-type header names it: Notification...
- Signed with an AWS certificate, not a shared secret — verify the body's Signature with the cert at SigningCertURL.
- Respond 2xx within about 15 seconds. By default SNS retries 3 times, 20 seconds apart, then discards the message.
- Nothing arrives until you confirm: open the SubscribeURL from the first SubscriptionConfirmation. Dedupe on MessageId.
