To create one, POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/ (for example: curl -X POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/). The JSON reply has ingest_url, where to send webhooks, and requests_url: GET it to wait for the next request. It waits up to 25 seconds and returns the request as JSON.
For a NMI test URL, send {"type": "NMI"} as the JSON body.
If you can only make GET requests, ask the person to open https://inspect.hookdeck.com/webhooks/nmi in a browser and share the URL it gives them.

What are NMI webhooks?
NMI (Network Merchants) is a payment gateway that resellers and software companies use for card and ACH payments. Its webhooks tell your app about transactions, recurring billing, settlements, and chargebacks.
Testing them usually means a sandbox gateway account and running test transactions through it. This page skips all of that: a live URL plus real sample payloads for every common event.
How do NMI webhooks work?
- Delivered as HTTPS POST requests with a JSON body — event_type names the event: transaction.sale.success...
- Signed with HMAC-SHA256 — Webhook-Signature holds t, a nonce, and s, the hex digest of the nonce, a dot, and the raw body.
- Respond 200 — anything else is retried, up to 20 times over 3 days, then the event is dropped. Dedupe on event_id.
- Each URL subscribes to chosen event types and gets events as soon as it's saved. Deliveries come from fixed NMI IPs.
