To create one, POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/ (for example: curl -X POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/). The JSON reply has ingest_url, where to send webhooks, and requests_url: GET it to wait for the next request. It waits up to 25 seconds and returns the request as JSON.
For a Recurly test URL, send {"type": "RECURLY"} as the JSON body.
If you can only make GET requests, ask the person to open https://inspect.hookdeck.com/webhooks/recurly in a browser and share the URL it gives them.

What are Recurly webhooks?
Recurly is a subscription billing and management platform. Its webhooks tell your app when accounts, subscriptions, invoices, and payments change, including renewals, failed payments, and dunning.
Testing them usually means a sandbox site, test subscriptions and payments, and some patience. This page skips all of that: a live URL plus real sample payloads for every common event.
How do Recurly webhooks work?
- Delivered as HTTPS POST requests with a thin JSON body — object_type and event_type name it: subscription, created...
- Signed with HMAC-SHA256 — recurly-signature holds a timestamp and signatures of the timestamp, a dot, and the raw body.
- Respond 2xx within 5 seconds, and don't redirect. Recurly retries 10 times with exponential backoff, then marks it failed.
- Payloads only point at the change and arrive out of order — fetch the record from the API. Dedupe on recurly-notification-id.
