To create one, POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/ (for example: curl -X POST https://inspect.hookdeck.com/). The JSON reply has ingest_url, where to send webhooks, and requests_url: GET it to wait for the next request. It waits up to 25 seconds and returns the request as JSON.
For a Volume test URL, send {"type": "VOLUME"} as the JSON body.
If you can only make GET requests, ask the person to open https://inspect.hookdeck.com/webhooks/volume in a browser and share the URL it gives them.

What are Volume webhooks?
Volume is an open banking platform for bank-to-bank payments, virtual accounts, and payouts. Its webhooks tell your app when a payment completes, fails, or settles, and when refunds and payouts change status.
Testing them usually means a Volume sandbox, webhook URLs in its Merchant Portal, and a bank sandbox payment. This page skips all of that: a live URL plus real sample payloads for every common event.
How do Volume webhooks work?
- Delivered as HTTPS PUT requests, not POST, with a JSON body — paymentStatus names the outcome: COMPLETED, FAILED, SETTLED.
- Signed with SHA256withRSA in the Authorization header — verify the raw body against Volume's public key for your environment.
- Respond 200 — anything else counts as failed and is sent again. Volume documents no timeout or retry schedule.
- Duplicates are expected, so dedupe on paymentId, and check that amount, currency, and merchantPaymentId match your records.
